About the Give1Project Digital Skills Academy
The creation of Give1Project Digital Skills Academy as well as its implementation was born from the determination and ambition of Mr. Thione Niang to want to set up an innovative educational system to be a pillar in the digital transformation of African nations through youth formation.
OVERVIEW OF THE ACADEMY
Today, digital technology has the strong potential to be able to reinvent the classic models used, to introduce new types of professions and to transform societies as well as economies through the implementation of daily IT applications.
Thousands of jobs can be created on the continent and help alleviate the ever more worrying problems of the unemployment rate among young people in our countries. Digital will help solve employment problems by implementing digital and technology within the way we operate.
DIPLOMA TRAINING (LONG TERM)
The major training curriculum on which our academy is based consists of a theoretical and practical teaching program related to current areas of technology. The apprenticeship program is established over a period of 4 months at the rate of 3 promotions per year.
Admission to the academy is based on a rigorous selection competition conducted by us. Admitted students receive a scholarship awarded by a mentor or sponsor allowing them to fully fund school fees.
The course gives access to hard skills addressing deep technical specificities. The blocks consist of theoretical sessions alternating with practice, as well as a professional immersion course, all complemented by active mentoring with their respective sponsor who funded their training.
In addition, the program provides for teaching sessions given by the students themselves to classes of elementary school children and adolescents in preparation for the baccalaureate. This principle makes it possible, on the one hand, to make our communities aware of the digital domain and also to involve children from an early age, to arouse their interest in these same themes in order to make them want to participate in training sessions for children and young people issued by the academy (see below). On the other hand, encouraging our students to teach the subjects they have acquired during the lessons provided in class allows them to master their subject in an even more complete way and to position themselves as an expert. This is also a way for us to ensure that the course blocks are assimilated in a sustainable way.
ICYBERSECURITY FOR COMPANIES
In all types of service, companies these days are looking for ways to implement digital means in order to facilitate their daily tasks. Many of them seek to train their employees in the basics of current technological aspects. As the latter are constantly being updated, training and upgrading are particularly important for companies in order to continue their activities in a sustainable manner, particularly with regard to cyber attacks.
For this reason, we train professionals in tech topics that have or may have impacts or repercussions on the activities of a company. Companies can choose to send groups of their employees for training at the academy or also have the option of using our services so that we can train them in cybersecurity on site. Each mandate is discussed and concluded in a unique way on the basis of a rate proportional to the number of employees trained.
CERTIFICATION TRAINING (SHORT TERM)
The Digital Skills Academy is a branch of Give1Project and for this purpose we want our members to be able to also have access to certain advantages for their effort and involvement within our organization. Each month, a member from each Give1Project focal point in the country is chosen and has the opportunity to come to the academy and take part in certification training. These trainings are given over a weekend, from Friday to Sunday; and will focus on suitable themes such as e-commerce. Our alumni can thus, for example, acquire knowledge allowing them to open online stores and market their product abroad or have new business projects and improve their professional future.
INTRODUCTORY DAY TO VARIOUS THEMES
We organize introductory days to the multiple elements that make up the digital and technological world and offer them access to all audiences. These are paid and accessible by registration via contacting us directly. These training days allow interested people to gain insight into these various subjects in order to be informed of the advantages and opportunities at stake, but also of the many problems and dangers that the advent of digitization has brought to our societies. We propose :
- CYBERSECURITY FOR SENIORS
Cybersecurity awareness sessions with in particular specific and targeted classes for adults as well as targeted also for seniors. It is necessary for the large part of the population to be informed about the consequences of the daily use of connected devices, whether it is in terms of their safety or simply the safety of their child, we are thinking in particular of cyberstalking as well. that of the cybercrime which our young people have been facing for a few years and which is still very little mastered in our African countries.
- CODING FOR CHILDREN 6 to 12 YEARS OLD
Discovery sessions in the field of coding and cybersecurity for children aged 6 to 12 with pedagogical and didactic learning allowing toddlers to become familiar with contact with machines and to create a link, a more balanced relationship and healthy.
- CODING AND CYBERSECURITY FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 12-17
Training adapted for young adolescents aged 12 to 17 providing them with the necessary tools for more advanced learning of coding and the profession of developer. This is in order to be able to spot future tech talents on the continent from an early age and to find how to offer them and install an environment allowing them to fully exploit their potential.
